  1. Thanks Steve.

I’m guessing he doesn’t inform his lyrics with scripture.

    Matthew 25:

37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

    1. There must be something about agnostics and scripture I do not understand.

      Thanks Ed.

I’m an agnostic, but if the Gettysburg Address is not proof of God’s (Higher Power……May the FORCE be with you…..) ongoing revelation, I don’t know what is.

      1. IG,

There’s a grand canyon of difference between the all knowing, immutable, all-powerful God of the Judaeo-Christian tradition and a “process” understanding of a creator who is not all knowing, nor all-powerful, nor unchanging.

Reasonable people can and will disagree, but imho either image of God/creator can be used to explain the timeless wisdom of the Judaeo-Christian scriptures and the Gettysburg Address. At some point it’s faith (ultimate concerns http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Tillich#Faith_as_ultimate_concern ) that will determine an individual’s position.
