  1. I’m still haunted by the statement about going to the promised land. “…I may not get there with you…” Why was he thinking that to such a degree that he wanted to warn the public?

      King was encouraged to commit suicide by the FBI, though he probably had no proof at the time of who wrote this letter.

      And he saw what happened to Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and JFK from 1963 to 1965. He probably figured that if he kept on his chosen path he was next, and he knew that he wasn’t going to stop what he was doing. He had extraordinary courage.

      1. Yes, sadly I believe you’re right, Steve. It’s a fatal flaw that fame requires extra sexual affairs in this world, the consequences of which are really a crap shoot to the end.

Interviews with CBC just several months before his physical demise. Worthwhile in understanding the intricacies of the man and the larger complexities of his real makeup.
