Bringing it to Blaska

David Blaska, former Tommy Thompson press secretary and the angry, little red pimple on the ass of Wisconsin’s progressive community, just can’t pass up an opportunity to skewer all things “libral”. His most recent  target: homeless people and the Occupy Madison folks who want to help them.

In his ” Blaska’s Bring It “blog he’s posted a piece titled ” Our obsession with the homeless. “  Seems he and his loyal commenters think Occupy Madison’s effort to build tiny homes for the homeless is yet one more of those goofball ideas only Madison progressives could come up with. Really?

Enter Utah. Yes, that Utah.

Utah has reduced chronic homelessness by 74% over the last eight years using a truly novel approach, namely, giving people an apartment. Pure genius. And they expect to end chronic homelessness altogether by 2015. And they’re saving the state money. The approach is getting increasingly more notice from the press, including a recent show by WPR host Kathleen Dunn.

Maybe Occupy Madison is onto something, eh Blaska?

Man, I didn’t know scratching my ass could be so satisfying.

  1. Great post. Blaska has never met a fact he can’t dodge, or common sense that he can’t ignore. And I love you description of him. Classic.

  2. Steve, I trust you’ll be taking a Tiny Homeless House in front of Carlson Manor very soon! Let me and your neighbors know when, you compassionate mensch, you!

    1. If no one wants tiny houses in front of theirs then why don’t you and your buddies champion the program as it’s being implemented in Utah? Be a great project for you and Vickie McKenna to take the lead on a republican success story, Dave. Why let the Occupiers get all the credit?
