On July 31, Irish Senator and internationally recognized human rights activist David Norris delivered a powerful speech in the Irish Parliament regarding the recent situation in Gaza. In his speech Norris attacked the human rights violations of Israel carried out with the support of the United States, as well as the complacency of the international community in allowing Israel to commit those human rights violations.

Imagine someone, anyone, and a pol no less telling the truth about the reality of Israeli crimes against the Palestinians and US complicity. In today’s political climate, shouldn’t Sen Norris be brought up on war crimes charges for even suggesting that Palestinian people have HUMAN rights, and I don’t know, should be released from the biggest US supported prison camp ever known. Ask yourself one question…..would you allow yourself to be subjegated like the Palestinians…..without fighting back? Well, would you?
No one can say this nation is a Christian nation and be complacent in the Israeli holocaust imposed on Palestine. St. Paul writes in Romans 3:29) “Is He the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also. 30) For it is one God, that justifieth circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31) Do we, then, destroy the law through faith? God forbid: but we establish the law.”
Both Israel and the US have been dancing with the Arabs. It was Saudis on the the WTC and Pentagon attack airliners, not Iraqis nor Iranians or Palestinians.
The Arabs fear other Mid Eastern nations’ growth and development…as does Israel. The Arabs fear loss of economic control with the decline of the world’s oil based economy…as do many powerful US interests.
The impasse with “terrorism” will not be broken until the world’s leaders confront the real reasons behind the division in the U.S. Congress, the Russians and their former satllite countries, or the Israelis and the Palestinians.
Moral superiority is a mighty tough card to play what with John 8:7. I don’t suppose anyone is looking too closely at this guy’s age of consent opinions what with Israel chosen as the trendy hate target. We’re not far removed from the Troubles in Northern Ireland so have the great benefit of hindsight on how messages and images were manipulated by a number of factions to garner sympathy, funds, and concessions. Nor are we that distant from the Great WMD Hunt and the proven (just trust us) case for invading Iraq. The sadder and wiser among us are seeking out information across media and academic sources, delving into whether views attributed to one side are indeed attributable to a people or a few, learning about the diversity of solutions on the table all along, and questioning very closely the reasons why a smaller conflict might be elevated above other more violent and on-going conflicts.
If we don’t attempt moral judgement, Emma, we are left with nuclear devastation. There are sins and there are mortal sins; in other words, a point of no return. That’s what the President is trying to avoid. And what Noris is railing against. I hope someone listens.
Great, then here’s my moral judgement. Anyone who defends pedophilia is simply not credible on any subject. Norris should go away.
There are almost 2,000 people dead in Gaza from the most recent Israeli attacks, Emma. I guess I don’t get why we should be looking closely at Norris’ age of consent opinions right now.
And Palestinian sources report that roughly 600 of the dead are children, women and the elderly.

Interesting idea you have that exceptions exist for the evil so long as your narrative and theirs happen to agree. Perhaps falling into a cult of personality trap is not the best method of developing informed views.

I didn’t even watch the video. I’m just curious why you think Norris’ views on the age of consent are more outrageous than 1,800 some dead Palestinians, including women children and old people.
And just to further clarify, I’d never heard of David Norris until this post went up, so I’m just a tad confused that a post about Israeli atrocities in Gaza turned into a rant about the IRA and pedophilia.
One last thing Emma; Israel as the “trendy” hate target? Trendy? Maybe you should try romance novels. Analyzing foreign affairs doesn’t seem to be your long suit.
Did you watch this video? The guy is a loon. He states that Israel created Hamas. He states that Hamas had nothing to do with the abduction and death of the three boys that sparked this war, something Hamas has in fact taken credit for. Its just goofy.
