Roundy’s to close two Milwaukee-area stores, cut 200 jobs

Apparently Roundy’s didn’t get the message that Scott Walker’s Wisconsin is “Open for Business.”

Roundy’s just announced that will close two local Pick ‘n Save stores and sell another, which means more than 200 people will soon be out of work.

The two closings are at the store on Brown Deer Road in Milwaukee and the store on Greenfield Avenue in West Allis. The store on Green Bay Avenue in Saukville will now become a Piggly Wiggly.

  1. Roundy’s is likely expecting to have stiff competition from the new Walmart that opened last month about a mile east of the Brown Deer Road store. Another mile east of the Walmart is another Roundy’s store. A simple but unfortunate business decision.
