Darren Wilson’s six-figure windfall for killing Michael Brown

Well this is something.

A NBC source with knowledge of the #DarrenWilson interview talks said that ABC offered to pay “mid-to-high” six figures for the interview.

The source did not say an exact figure because NBC stopped bidding for it after ABC upped the ante.

The fact that Darren Wilson, who admitted he’s not the slightest bit bothered that he took someone’s life, profited from doing so should disgust any reasonable person.

  1. I would agree except that DW can no longer be a police officer because of the hatred of the tolerant left. I would agree except that DW will incur great expense to avoid being murdered by a member of the tolerant left. If the tolerant left behaved properly and justly and allowed DW a normal life, maybe he would not have taken the money.

    1. Denis, “left” or “right” has absolutely nothing to do with why Darren Wilson wouldn’t be able to continue as a police officer, but it’s not surprising to me that you don’t understand that. Darren Wilson’s ability to be an effective police officer in Ferguson was compromised the minute he shot an unarmed man who was attempting to surrender.

As for you blaming the left for Darren Wilson’s decision to cash in on killing Michael Brown, no one forced him to take the money; he chose to do that all on his own.

      1. The “left” has everything to do with the end of Wilson’s career as a police officer. What we have is a completely justified self defense shooting in who-knows-where-Missouri turned into a national story by the media (mostly left) and the race baiters (entirely left) and President Obama (also entirely left). And afterwords, the left, such as blogs like yours and social media countrywide, give cover and explanations to justify or understand the thugs and arsonists, none of whom voted for Mitt Romney I suspect. You are right that the “right” has nothing to do with this though.

        1. If decent people have had anything to do with ending Darren Wilson’s career as a police officer then at least something has been accomplished. It would be even better if we’d of had something to do with ending his career as a free man for 20 years after a conviction of 2nd degree murder.

          1. We have a justice system that exonerated DW, but you still want him jailed. I already knew this of course, but what you are really saying is that you want mob justice.

            1. Fact free and invented gibberish is what you’ve stated, or you are as ignorant as you appear to be with that comment? This was not a “justice system,” it was a select group of privileged/powerful individuals, white-washing (pun-intended) with a pair of assistant DA’s under the direction of DA McCulloch, directing and manipulating a deliberative process to their desired and predetermined conclusion. DW was not exonerated as a GJ proceeding is not a TRIAL where Darren would have to face a prosecutor actually representing the shooting victim.

My understanding is it took 9 of 12 jurors to move the case to TRIAL, so then it only took 4 of 12 jurors to prevent that from happening. Hardly a TRIAL, absolutely not exoneration.

Hoping for an actual TRIAL becomes “mob,” justice when and how? What evidence led you to accuse SC of that? Spell it out for us or hit the non-digital highway.

  2. The “payoff” that Wilson received for repeating his lies further revealed his racism and cowardice and is confirmation of a deeply flawed personality without humanity or a conscience. He was ill-suited for the profession he chose.

  3. Denis…….just stop!!!!!
It is comments like these, ignorant rantings with no facts, that keep this sort of ill will going on.
TOLERANCE has nothing to do with this….a black man was killed by a white cop. WE were not there, but the conditions were common: white cop goes his own way, black family grieves.
The ENTIRE grand jury was a farce: cherry picked witnesses, being led to a conclusion that the prosecutor wanted……using a law declared illegal thirty years ago, the cope being able to give a well rehearsed testimony for four hours, The prosecutor had a father, a cop, killed by a black person. All elementa in a perfect storm.
NOBODY is saying that Black was totally innocnet…but for god’s sake, the police force knew from day one that this cop would NEVER stand trial for his own escalation of the events.

      1. If I ignore you, you call me out. If I answer, no matter how diplomatically, you call it “verbal abuse” and you want me banned from BB. And you are somehow qualified to administer “justice” in Ferguson?

        1. Now you play the pity card. No, I generally call your verbal abuse here, perpetual *harassment* of nearly every commentator at this blog, issued for the sole purpose of disrupting and derailing any possibility of anyone else achieving a civil discussion on any topic. In other words, internet trolling, total and deliberate contrariness for the sole sake of being contrary and for no other reason.

You bring nothing people here are not already aware of. You add nothing to anyone’s knowledge about any issue. You’ve never brought an authoritative link to back any of your fact-free beliefs and pronouncements. Most of your “diplomacy,” is couched in passive aggressive personally directed disrespect of the commenter you are addressing. Comments which you ignore, like the one I linked to immediately above are the ones that clearly and definitely call out your racism, hypocrisy and callous bigotry, hate and ignorance issues or ignoring of issues.

I’ve called for a vote to get you off the island, and just as true, you’ve stated you don’t intend to allow this blog to peacefully exist without your continual harassment. You’ve claimed you don’t understand what harassment is, until you do you are incapable of diplomacy. Should I re-post those links to your very words? So, if you don’t leave on your own accord, there is only one other possibility as I just mentioned above.

Nowhere did I claim qualifications to administer justice in Ferguson. When you don’t have evidence you immediately make crap up and here is another example. Harass, disrupt, accuse, falsely infer, falsely insinuate, comment irrationally based on your uninformed beliefs. Take your personal problems somewhere else, for good.

  4. On the contrary judi. It is comments like yours and the fanciful beliefs contained therein that divide this nation, to the great benefit of the Democratic Party. Your hopelessly biased description of the grand jury as a farce gives cover for the extremes on the left who routinely bash the police and look for any opportunity to create mayhem and harm this country. There will be more Ferguson’s. The seeds are being planted today, by the left and only by the left.

  5. As an aside, in a nation of 300 plus million people and thousands of police officers, some of whom (the police) most certainly are corrupt POS, is the Ferguson shooting the best example of police brutality that the left can come up with? Certainly somewhere in this country a policeman overreacted or purposely killed some gang banger for not turning over his share of drug money etc…but the left chooses a clearly justified self defense shooting to promote the police brutality narrative. Why?

I have come up with a few possibilities. First, after Trayvon, the left needed any case involving white shooter, black death. Second, the left is so confident in their propagandizing, and should be, knowing there are millions willing to believe any nonsense they put forward, as is clearly evident here at BB, that they didn’t even need a guilty police officer to advance the agenda. Third, the facts of the case don’t matter because of the willing dupes on the left. Fourth, an officer actually guilty would not divide our nation as the “right” would take no part in defending an actually guilty police officer. In retrospect, the left selected a perfect case to achieve their ends, which are racial division for political purposes.

    1. The best example the “left” can come up with? How about another example of 100’s that compassionate HUMANS can come up with. Here, a drive-by just for the only certifiable psychopath commenting here today.

  6. No question this is a depraved individual selling his kill story. More importantly, the MSM is ennabling him. And even more importantly, they are unlikely to ask him, his former bosses, and the Federal government the really tough questions about militarization of the police, the diminishing rights of the individuals, and who institutions (public and private) must serve. I referenced Edmond Burke the other day but all the great liberal thinkers whose work formed the base of conservative thought are long forgotten. The right is now defined by a thirst of authoritarianism, greed and they are of course easily manipulated by fear. It is no wonder the consevative troll I responded to had no clue who Burke was as they are all merely children of Stalin now.

  7. You gotta wonder why, when Darren Wilson was telling George Stephanopolous how he fired several times as Brown allegedly approached him, and thought he hit Brown because he saw him flinch, Stephanopolous didn’t abruptly interrupt and say. ” You did hit him, Officer Wilson, twice in the chest and once in the forehead, which shattered his right eye, and you’re saying that after sustaining two gunshots wounds to the chest and one to the forehead, Michael Brown lowered his head and charged you? ”

That would have been a moment of television worth six figures.

    1. How much do you want to bet that George was told that question was off-limits.

      JOURNALISM BABY !!

  8. Read this account of another event. A young adult was confronted by a clerk for not paying for the items in his hands as he left the store. The clerk notified the police with a description of the suspect and the stolen items. A police officer after hearing the radio description saw the suspect with the items in his hands. The officer demanded that the suspect approach for investigation. The suspect approached but then struck the officer and ran to escape arrest. Shots were fired at the fleeing suspect none striking him. The suspect turned around and again came towards the officer. Does anyone doubt that the actions of both individuals in this situation would not result in tragic consequences. The one has a mission to protect and serve. The other seems to have a mission to avoid arrest. These two missions cannot co-exist. One or the other individuals have to decide the outcome! The decision by either to complete their mission is tragic!

    1. Jerry,

I agree 100% with your last sentence, however in the Michael Brown murder by Darren Wilson, none of the facts in that case fit with the version you presented. With MB evidence has come out store items were paid for, the Wilson had not heard of any attempted strong-arm at a convenience store at the time of attempting to single-handedly apprehend two teen-age males walking in the street. Pulling a gun from inside your vehicle as you swing your vehicle door open, hitting the teen with the door and who undoubtedly saw the gun being aimed at him and reacted in attempting to push it away, was shot and then ran, was shot in the back while running away (eyewitness testimony interview the day after the shooting on network news). Tragic yes, justice for the murder victim no.

  10. From that OP interview:

When Stephanopoulos asked if there was a way Wilson could turn what he experienced, “what he was a part of, into something good,” Wilson replied that he would love to teach people, “give people more insight on uses of force and anything I can get out of this career I’ve had and the incident so far; I would love to do.”

Nation-wide speaking tour? $50K, $100K per venue? Would love to show police how to murder and get away with it.

    Only in AmeriKKKa.

  11. Why did Michael Brown have to rob that gas station? Why did he have to rough up that clerk. I just don’t understand how one of the countries most HONORED FALLEN HEROES could have been involved in a crime of any sort. I hope they build a monument to honor Brown’s sacrifice for freedom. Fergusin freedom protestors should find that stupid clerk who obstructed Brown’s exit from the store and show him just how they feel.

  12. I wonder if he could got more money if he would have taken out both of the Scumbags. Funny how no one mentioned that Wilson only shot the innocent black man that was assaulting him and continued to show himself to be a that to the officer. If Wilson was out to murder some black boys that day, why did he so at just one? Clearly he must have realized that he could have got at least eight figures for murderin too innocent black boys in one day. Not only was Wilson a murdering racist pig, he was also took stupid to murder as many s he could. Stupid racist cop
