According to an email sent out by her campaign, State Appeals Court Judge JoAnne Kloppenburg announced she is running for the state Supreme Court in 2016.

Kloppenburg announced her candidacy Friday in an email. She is seeking the seat currently held by Justice Patrick Crooks that is up for election in April.

A spokeswoman for Crooks said he would have no comment.

Kloppenburg previously ran for the Supreme Court in 2011, at the height of the debate over Gov. Scott Walker’s law effectively ending collective bargaining for most public workers.
