Jim Webb & Lincoln Chafee drop out of Democratic presidential race

First came news former U.S. Senator Jim Webb was dropping out of the Democratic presidential race, and now comes news former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee has ended his presidential bid as well.

Chafee’s decision to drop out of the presidential race shouldn’t be any great shock, given his widely panned performance at the first Democratic presidential debate, as well as the recent revelation that just ten big-money donors contributed to Chafee’s presidential campaign, which had raised a grand total of just over $15,000.

Chafee’s decision to drop out of the presidential race leaves just former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, and Harvard law professor Lawrence Lessig as the remaining Democrats seeking the party’s nomination.
