Senator McCain, I Think You’ve Overstayed Your Welcome.

Obviously I have very little in common with Senator John McCain. But over the years I had a respect for his intelligence and his honesty. But ever since his 2008 campaign as the Republican candidate for president, he seems to be getting off the track in a big way.

This may be the wildest thing I’ve ever seen attributed to him and even though he walked most of it back a few hours later it is totally uncalled for and totally disrespectful of the president. In response to the issues surrounding the Orlando shooting:

“Barack Obama is directly responsible for it, because when he pulled everybody out of Iraq, al-Qaida went to Syria, became ISIS, and ISIS is what it is today thanks to Barack Obama’s failures, utter failures, by pulling everybody out of Iraq,” a visibly angry McCain said as the Senate debated a spending bill.

“So the responsibility for it lies with President Barack Obama and his failed policies,” McCain said.

But he later issued a statement saying that he “misspoke.”

“I did not mean to imply that the president was personally responsible. I was referring to President Obama’s national security decisions, not the president himself,” McCain said in his statement, issued as his initial comments were drawing heated criticism from Democrats.

Beyond the pale…even for the new version maverick Sen McCain. I think he’s finally joined the troop of wacko birds in the US Senate.
