The Draft of the 2016 Democratic Platform

From Wisconsin Democratic National Committee member, Jason Rae:

Dear Friends,

Today, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) released the draft of the 2016 Democratic Party Platform that was adopted last weekend in St. Louis by the Platform Drafting Committee. You can read a copy of the draft platform here.
The platform draft addresses many issues and topics including the economy, education, reproductive rights, criminal justice, immigration, racial justice, LGBTQ rights, and more.

The full 187-member Platform Committee will gather next week, July 8 and 9, in Orlando, Florida to review and adopt the draft to be presented at the Convention in Philadelphia.

I’d encourage you to take a moment to review the platform. For your convenience, I’ve also posted a press release from the DNCC below that highlights the drafting process, as well as some of the significant advancements made in it.

I hope that you have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July!
Yours,

Jason Rae

So after all of the rumor and half truths and innuendo about the draft platform, here it is! Knock yourselves out.

  1. Falling short of assurances for. “we the people,” on every front, this document is a piece of trash propaganda that obviously will not be interpreted to by the DNC to deliver anything other than the status quo, corporate control over US citizens by the “left,” wing on the plutocracy.

I do appreciate you bringing it to our attention though Ed.

Democratic leadership is going to begin to show human tolerance yet promises to be war mongers in the Middle East and expand our military muscle in Africa. Right.

One only has to parse the first paragraph in the Preamble to understand the POS that is coming form the national org.

Under President Obama’s leadership, and thanks to the hard work and determination of the American people, we have come a long way from the Great Recession and the Republican policies that triggered it. We have seen 75 straight months of private-sector job growth and added 14.5 million new jobs. Twenty million people have gained health insurance coverage. The American auto industry just had its best year ever. We are getting more of our energy from the sun and wind, and importing less oil from overseas.

From the bottom, a quick interpretation. Fracking, sand mining and chemical toxins injected with our precious finite water, permanently contaminated, is destroying whole regions of our country. The American auto industry is a dinosaur and no progress is being made toward a multi-generational public transit system anywhere in the US. Twenty million people have been forced into substandard yet expensive, subservient medical provider slavery as the industry moguls, go absolutely unregulated stripping every last dime from a whole population through service sector low wage jobs. Skilled workers are idle as corporations seek world-wide exploitation of even poorer economic populations to enslave.

Taxpayers have bailed out the big banks (Obama,Geithner) while easing restrictions on them and their ability to control and manipulate all of us financially for the benefit of a few, culpability for the failure of equitable sharing of our capital, economic wealth being transferred to the select few, falling equally on the shoulders of Democratic leadership while scapegoating their partners in crime, Republican leadership, purely for show.

Absolutely sickening divide and conquer BS, top to bottom.

Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts.
