Mitch McConnell Made His Bed

…and now he has to lie in it.

Normally I would support the premise that a newly elected president should be able to name his (historically accurate) own cabinet and advisers and have them confirmed within a reasonable amount of time: after a fair but thorough confirmation hearing in the senate. Cabinet appointments are very seldom rejected.

But not this time…and yes I partly feel that way because the drain the swamp movement consists of a plethora of generals and Goldman Sachs elites. But that’s not the real reason.

It’s because of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. And his blatant boasts to make President Obama a one term president, the continued obstruction of President Obama’s programs and agenda, the inane number of times of voting to repeal Obamacare, his reversal on ethics committee rulings on cabinet appointees, and his 11 month obstructionist foot dragging and refusal to hold hearings on Judge Merrick Garland for the US Supreme Court.

So now that he’s complaining about Democratic foot dragging over President Trump’s cabinet appointments and Judge Neil Gorsuch’s appointment to fill Judge Garland’s seat on the Supreme Court…his complaints ring hollow. He just needs to pull his blanket up over his head and let the process take its course.

And then maybe he should apologize and try to get on with the actual work of running the country.

  1. The nation’s voters have made clear they reward obstruction. The Democrats need to embrace it wholeheartedly, based on the premise of giving the American people what they want.
