One Response to Sunday Open Thread!

  1. Duane12 says:

Recalling the plight of the recent deportation of a mother whose daughter was born in America and reading the Sunday Journal this morning, I was reminded of our famous reassuring and welcoming notice to new arrivals:

“Give me your tired, your poor
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

Surely, our new President must feel compelled to issue a new Directive to update these words with, “except for Muslims and Mexicans.”

    “Oh, the humanity!”
