Tax Day: #Tax March : President Trump: Show Us Your Tax Forms!

From the emailbox:

Ed, millions of Americans will do their civic duty and file their federal and state taxes before this Tuesday’s deadline. For more than 40 years, presidents have made their tax returns public so the American people could see first-hand they have no conflicts of interest that would prevent them from doing their job without bias.

It’s pathetic that Donald Trump still refuses to release his returns to the American people. We need to call him out and keep the pressure on.

Tomorrow, Americans are marching on Washington, D.C. and in cities around the country to tell Donald Trump to stop hiding. No matter where you are, I’m hoping you’ll join in. Click here to find a Tax March near you.

First, Donald hid behind the ridiculous excuse that he couldn’t release them because he was “under audit.” Then his team said they would be released after the election. But once he won, his spokeswoman, Kellyanne Conway, announced that he was going back on his promise saying, “he’s not going to release his tax returns.”

A CNN poll found that 3 out of 4 Americans want to see what Trump is hiding — including about half of his own Republican base. But that hasn’t stopped him from dodging the truth. That’s why it’s so important that we hit the streets tomorrow to make our voices heard.

This is really important, Ed. Thanks for standing with Democrats to hold Donald Trump accountable.

Update: Activists to use Tax Day to tell Trump: Show us your returns : Democratic lawmakers and activists plan to hit the streets Saturday at Tax Day protests around the country and demand President Donald Trump release his tax returns. Organizers hope the protests — dubbed the Tax March — will resonate with Americans who think the president should release his returns, as his recent predecessors have done. Rallies are scheduled in nearly 150 cities, including Washington, New York, Boston and San Francisco. Activists in West Palm Beach, Florida, will hold the “March a Lago” near the resort where Trump plans to spend the Easter weekend.

  1. I care about war, jobs, economy, immigration, transportation. You look at the damn tax returns and later about them.

    1. So Bob, what exactly are you stances on war, jobs, economy, immigration and transportation. How do you feel about Syria and North Korea? Will coal and manufacturing jobs actually come back? How do you feel about the dichotomy in Madison over funding transportation? Would Pres. Trump’s infrastructure program (if it ever materializes) help Wisconsin transportation issues…and American job issues? What do you suggest we do about Wisconsin farmers who rely on undocumented workers because on one locally wants to do the work?
