Wait, What? Alabama Has Its Second Woman Governor?

With the resignation of Alabama Governor Robert Bentley, Lieutenant Kay Ivey has been sworn in as governor! And she is the SECOND woman to become governor of Alabama. ALABAMA!

Yet Wisconsin has yet to elect a woman to the governorship.

Now, I get that the first woman who held the Alabama governorship was Lurleen Wallace who was serving as a surrogate for term limited George Wallace.

And yes, Governor Kay Ivey inherited the seat by scandal…

But Wisconsin hasn’t gotten close yet. (Well unless Governor Walker boogies…we will have Governor Rebecca Kleefisch). What’s with that?

  1. Part of why Kathleen Vinehout or Su Happ are my top picks. Give people something different and see what happens.

  2. In terms of scandal the Unintimidated One is neck and neck with Bentley – he just has a thicker teflon coating, and a fawning, enabling media to keep him afloat.
