In running up the angst around the ‘caravan’ from Honduras that is set to ‘invade’ the United States any day now (nobody wants to see if they actually apply for asylum at a legal port of entry first)…President Donald Trump accuses the Democrats of preventing changes in immigration law:

Trump sought to blame the opposition party for the caravan’s existence. “Every time you see a Caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our Country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic Immigration Laws!” Trump tweeted on October 22.

The president has enjoyed a majority in both houses of Congress since they day he was sworn in. If the immigration laws aren’t to your liking, it’s all on your head.

BTW: and then on October 25th, the president tweeted:

You can not apply for US citizenship from a foreign country. You have to have a green card and be a permanent resident of the United States for at least 5 years before you can apply. The president…any president…needs to understand how our current laws work.
