This sounds like a perfect situation to quote this adage: “Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it!”
Although the Republican House stuntmen (and yes all of them are men) who stormed the impeachment hearings this week claim to need more transparency in how the inquiry is being run…that’s probably the last thing that they really want.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), a conspiracy theorist and staunch Trump defender, hosted a press conference on Wednesday with dozens of fellow House Republicans to complain that the impeachment inquiry was not “transparent” enough.
Given that the information that is out in public implicates the president absolutely and completely…I can’t imagine any of the other information is going to prove helpful to his defense.
Eventually there will be open hearings if warranted…and I can’t imagine otherwise…and then we’ll see if the GOP still loves transparency.
