Tulsi Gabbard Voted “Present”??

Well Representative Tulsi Gabbard (? – HI) certainly is continuing to stake out her position as an outlier…by voting present on both articles of impeachment. I would have preferred she vote against them rather than this wishy/washy position that she has taken. She is not a leader.

“After doing my due diligence in reviewing the 658-page impeachment report, I came to the conclusion that I could not in good conscience vote either yes or no,” Gabbard said in a statement. “I am standing in the center and have decided to vote Present. I could not in good conscience vote against impeachment because I believe President Trump is guilty of wrongdoing. I also could not in good conscience vote for impeachment because removal of a sitting President must not be the culmination of a partisan process, fueled by tribal animosities that have so gravely divided our country.”

And fortunately we won’t have to stomach her appearance in tomorrow’s debate:

Tulsi Gabbard, a few days before failing to qualify for the debate, announced on December 9 that she would not participate regardless of whether she qualifies

I can’t support Rep. Gabbard in any way, shape, or form anymore…and can’t see a real future for her in the Democratic Party.

  1. On the contrary– Gabbard’s independent stance is refreshing, not only on this futile impeachment process, but on other issues. Instead of goosestepping along with party dictates (both Republican and Democratic), she has a well-reasoned position on many issues. Too bad, she doesn’t have wider support to be a candidate to oppose Trump. Bernie is my choice, but I sense that the Trumpsters have poisoned public opinion against “Progessives” as evil-socialists/communists. So- Biden may be the chosen one against Trump. I’d rather have Gabbard. Trumpsters will have a field day with Joe Biden
    and his $50,000/month son Hunter.

    1. I’d agree with you on Rep. Gabbard if this was the only gaff that I feel she has committed in her campaign to date. But it’s not. And I would have preferred a vote against impeachment than a vote of ‘present’. That’s just plain baloney. If you don’t believe a case has been made, vote your conscious. If she had voted ‘no’, I wouldn’t have posted this.
