Nearly a day after the Iowa Democratic caucus concluded Democrats still don’t have a definitive answer as to which Democratic presidential candidate actually won the caucuses. To say this is a shitshow (pardon my language) is probably a bit of an overstatement but it certainly doesn’t look good, and already President Trump and his bootlickers have seized upon the situation to sow division, distrust, and doubt in the Democratic presidential race.
While the long delay in the results of the Iowa Democratic caucus have been a black eye, we’re finally starting to get results – and those results might be somewhat surprising depending on which candidate you support. With about a third of the caucus results still unreported South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg holds a narrow lead over Senator Bernie Sanders, with Senator Elizabeth Warren and former Vice President Joe Biden trailing behind in a distant third and fourth place. Obviously the remaining results can definitely swing these results, but the results thus far have to be very encouraging for Pete Buttigieg.
