Science should not stand in the way

…of schools reopening, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany says.

“The science should not stand in the way of this,” she added, saying it is “perfectly safe” to fully reopen all classrooms.

I do understand the financial burden of keeping businesses closed. I do understand the issues surrounding opening schools. I do understand the turmoil in families when parents can’t stay at home but their school age children are home distance learning. But if the federal government had gotten control of the coronavirus in March when the nation essentially shut down, we wouldn’t be having this discussion…or at least the effects would be minimal.

And keep in mind that just two months ago Republican electeds were telling us that my peers and myself should be willing to sacrifice our lives for the good of the economy.

Now that we didn’t buy that reasoning, they want to use our children and their teachers and school support staff as the cannon fodder in their failed ‘war’ on COVID-19.

President Donald Trump doesn’t care about the health of one single American…he needs the schools open to support his scenario that the pandemic is over…so he can get re-elected…while the body count continues to climb.

P.S. if students don’t go to school they can’t study that pesky science that the Republicans seem to abhor. [sarcasm]

  1. …White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany….

Every time I see her, she reminds me of “Baghdad Bob”.

How can she keep a straight face spouting Trump’s irrational mouthings? Both Trump and Pence (and many Trumpsters) have been anti-science so their tossing aside science during this covid-19 crisis is no surprise.
