About Blogging Blue
Blogging Blue started in 2007 as an outlet for Zachary Wisniewski’s thoughts & rants on politics, current events, sports, and whatever else happened to be on his mind. Zachary’s politics are decidedly left of center, and he’s a proud #wiunion member.
From its very small start Blogging Blue has gradually expanded to include a number of talented contributors as well as a lively community of commenters from both sides of the political spectrum, and since its inception Blogging Blue has been cited by RawStory.com, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Jim Galloway’s Political Insider blog, The Maddow Blog, Salon.com, and Talking Points Memo, among others. In 2011 and 2013 Blogging Blue was named as one of Wisconsin’s best state-based political blogs by the Washington Post‘s “The Fix” blog, making Blogging Blue one of only two Wisconsin blogs to be twice honored.
In February of 2017 Zachary put Blogging Blue in the very capable hands of Ed Heinzelman, a longtime contributor to the blog. Zach is now editor emeritus and Ed is senior editor and publisher.
Time for a belated update! Post the 2020 election cycle, Ed announced his retirement and turned the site back over to Zachary who is now, once again, the official publisher. But Ed has returned/remained as a contributor of the foreseeable future.
