There were between 200 and 250 cops in full-on riot gear, about 10 on riot-gear-clad war horses, some kind of riot tank, many cop cars, ambulances, etc. Between 1,000 and 2,000 anti-Nazi protestors lined the streets. Between 50 and 100 Neo-Nazi’s showed up in “White Pride World Wide” shirts, [...] Just wanted to point out the gender dimension of the new budget. A lot has been made of the underlying class warfare in the Wisconsin Republican/Tea party lately. But, apparently, similar shenanigans are going on in Indiana, from whence their Dems have also taken shelter in Illinois to prevent a quorum on a union-busting vote. Sounds like isomorphic behavior on the part of power-mad Tea party governors. [...] According to this report, the man, who is an instructor at Pima Community College (which Jared Lee Loughner attended), was “sitting in front of the store in a ‘yoga position’” and chanting the phrase “We are the ones you have been waiting for.” The Safeway manager asked him to leave, but he would not, invoking [...] |
