Thursday Music: The Beatles: Revolution

Happy Thanksgiving!

I had two numbers queued up for today and couldn’t decide what was more appropriate for the holiday. Well actually neither of them were…but from the look of my calendar for December, the 2014 election cycle will be in full swing before our next Thursday music day…so I clicked on this for Thanksgiving 2013. Enjoy your holiday. I know there are mission critical jobs that need to be worked today…but for those of you who are being pulled into work for less than critical positions…particularly all of the retailers who just can’t say no in the face of their competitors and pretend it’s what consumers want…think about becoming a union thug!

Thursday Music: A Sexist Side of John Lennon

Yesterday would have been John Lennon’s 73rd birthday and my favorite disc jockey on my favorite radio station was featuring a lot of John Lennon today. “Run For Your Life” was the last song he played on his show. It is also the last song on The Beatles’ “Rubber Soul” album. When I was 15 this was an awesome song…well musically it still is…but at 63 I see it as just a wee bit sexist…and it’s a bit of a let down that I didn’t see that until this afternoon.

Happy Birthday John!
