No causal relationship exists. [...] So concealed carry of weapons is now legal here in Wisconsin, and as part of their ongoing effort to make it as easy as possible for Wisconsinites to carry weapons, Republicans in the legislature have eliminated the requirement that individuals seeking a concealed carry permit must undergo a minimum number of hours of training. Van Hollen wrote rules implementing the state’s new weapons law that set four hours as the minimum length of firearms training courses. But on Monday, his fellow Republicans on the Legislature’s Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules suspended the requirement for minimum hours.
