On Sunday, customers who receive the Janesville Gazette found this in the newspaper tubes, along with their Sunday papers: What you’re looking at is a flier (purporting to be an advertisement in the Janesville Gazette) that lists the names and salaries of public school teachers who signed the recall petition and includes a form [...] What’s this?!? A conservative “good government” lawmaker ignoring his constituents?!? That certainly seems to be the case with County Supervisor Paul Cesarz, as reported by Steve Schultze of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Though he shows up for full County Board meetings, his presence at committee meetings has been inconsistent. His attendance slid after the 2008 [...] This has been a long time coming… Several months ago, Citizens for Responsible Government attempted to smear local lefty blogger Chris “capper” Liebenthal, alleging he had committed some sort of crime (presumably misconduct in office) by blogging while at work as an employee of Milwaukee County. Predictably, conservative bloggers were quick to pass judgment on [...] It looks like Orville Seymer and the folks at CRG, in an attempt to intimidate Milwaukee County Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic into voting the way they think she ought to vote on the Milwaukee County budget, are threatening a recall of Sup. Dimitrijevic: A potential recall effort against Milwaukee County Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic was announced Wednesday, [...] I’m a bit surprised that State Representative Jeff Stone is taking his opponent, Larry Gamble, this seriously. In reviewing his Pre-Primary campaign finance report, Stone’s campaign records a total of $2000 given to Vi Hammelman for “consulting” during the months of July & August. Vi is the ex-wife of former Franklin Alderman Alan Hammelman, who [...] The Milwaukee County budget process for 2010 is officially finished, as the County Board of Supervisors voted on Wednesday to override 21 of Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker’s 34 vetoes of the 2010 budget. The board’s veto overrides will increase the property tax levy by $5.6 million, which equates to an increase of 18 cents, [...] Not content to support a possible recall of Milwaukee County Supervisor Pat Jursik, the Citizens for Responsible Government (CRG) are now making noise about a possible recall of Supervisor Theo Lipscomb, in conjunction with “Glendale Residents for Honest Representation,” a political action committee registered by Toni Hill, a resident of Glendale. According to Chris Kliesmet [...] Since their successful effort to recall former County Executive Tom Ament and much of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, the Citizens for Responsible Government (CRG) haven’t had much success with their assorted recall efforts. Their effort to get Gov. Jim Doyle recalled was a failure, as were efforts to recall Cudahy Mayor Ryan McCue [...] The CRG Network, backers of failed (or aborted) recall efforts in Wauwatosa and Cudahy, not to mention the failed effort to recall Gov. Jim Doyle, have announced they’ve been contacted to provide assistance to form a citizens group to explore the possibility of a recall effort against City of Milwaukee Third District Alderman Nik Kovac. [...] Despite not collecting a SINGLE signature in their effort to recall Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle, and despite their recall effort dying a quick and quiet death, the folks at WIN (led by Vince Schmuki) are “claiming victory” as reports indicate Gov. Doyle won’t seek reelection in 2010. As The Chief said…priceless. |
