Republican U.S. Senate candidate (and carpetbagger) Eric Hovde has had a bad week. First he said he’s “sick and tired of reading sad stories about people struggling in the recession,” then he bizarrely tried to portray himself as a victim of vicious liberal attacks from the likes of Arianna Huffington (challenging Huffington to a debate [...] Pity Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde. That’s what he wants you to do, if his latest fundraising appeal is any indication. See, Eric Hovde, who’s a carpetbagging one percenter, wants you to feel bad for him because he’s come under attack after he told a friendly crowd that he was “sick and tired of [...] To say Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde is “living large” would be an understatement. Hovde, who buys banks in his free time, apparently likes to buy multimillion dollar houses as much as he enjoys buying banks. According to Cory Liebmann over at Eye on Wisconsin, Hovde owns multi-million dollar mansions in both Wisconsin and [...] Last Friday in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Eric Hovde, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, said he was “sick and tired of reading sad stories about people struggling in the recession,” and that he “wants to see the media focus more on the debt and the larger problems afflicting the country,” according to Amanda Terkel of the Huffington [...] While many of us have been laser-focused on the upcoming recall election, Senator Ron Johnson has been busy making bizarre statements. But Johnson is not the only Republican making absurd declarations. Tommy Thompson, Eric Hovde, and Mark Neumann have all been hard at work trying to out-Tea-Party one another in the race for U.S. Senate. [...] I love this… Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald of Horicon took the most votes at the Republican Party’s state convention here, but fell short of the 60% needed to secure the endorsement. It was a surprisingly strong showing for Fitzgerald, who has lagged in fundraising and polling. Thompson, elected governor four times, was knocked off [...] It’s Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde’s birthday today.
