Friday morning links

Just a few links to start you out today….

The Chief has an excellent writeup on the GOP double standard that seems to exist for Pastor David King, who’s running for Wisconsin Secretary of State.

Over at eau-snap! (a blog worth reading, by the way), I’ve been named Viking of the Month, an award coveted [...]

Some primary day predictions

Just a few predictions on some important races today, keeping in mind that this list is far from exhaustive:

Chris Larson v. Jeff Plale (Democratic primary in 7th State Senate District): A lot of money has been spent in this race, including scads of money from outside groups on both sides, and the race has [...]

Is the Walker campaign floundering?

As noted by xoff over at Uppity Wisconsin and Cindy Kilkenny at Fairly Conservative, Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker has gone negative in a big way in the weeks leading up to the September 14 partisan primary election, sending out a mailer attacking his opponent, Mark Neumann, for voting for “$9 billion in pork-barrel spending” [...]

The trains are a coming….

The High Speed rail from Milwaukee to Madison has been an issue in the upcoming election season. Bruce Murphy breaks it down so simple even Scott Walker could understand.

As Murphy points out to the true blue “conservatives”:

All transportation is subsidized. The state spends more than $2 billion annually to subsidize roads [...]

Only 249,999 jobs to go

Scott Walker has promised that when elected governor he will develop 250,000 jobs for those of us who live in the State of Wisconsin. Well here’s the first one: The White Tail Deer Trustee!

“Scott Walker, Milwaukee County executive and candidate for governor, today announced his plans to name [...]

Here’s a link to the Hill’s 50 Wealthiest Legislators in Washington!

Somebody there missed Herb Kohl…since the 50th person is at $5.1 million, Senator Kohl should certainly have been on this list. The Milwaukee Bucks alone should put him near the top.

Wisconsin didn’t do too badly:

#26 Representative Jim Sensenbrenner is the Wisconsin delegation [...]

Looks like someone wasnt paying attention in school.

Mark Neumann is on the air with his latest radio ad. He is going to fix our schools and save them from Madison.

Listen to it here!

“I’ve seen how good our schools can work ”

Ummm Mark, i have seen how well a good editor can work…

Neumann wins regional beer stein holding contest

In a follow-up to a story I posted on Thursday night, Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Neumann won Thursday night’s regional Masskrugstemmen, a German beer stein holding contest which requires contestants to hold up a full beer mug for as long as they can with their arm fully extended. Neumann will now move on to the [...]

Neumann competing in beer stein holding competition tonight

This has absolutely nothing to do with the 2010 gubernatorial election, but I thought it was funny and worth mentioning. As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Neumann will compete in a German beer stein holding contest called Masskrugstemmen tonight at the Old German Beer Hall. Neumann who won a local [...]

Scott Walker & Mark Neumann: the extremist singers

It’s no secret Republican gubernatorial candidates Scott Walker and Mark Neumann have been racing each other to the right on the issue of abortion. Despite being for smaller government that’s less involved in the lives of citizens, Walker and Neumann both support interjecting government between women and their doctors, and in response to the extremist [...]
