As I’ve been pondering the situation/scandal involving Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, I can’t help but wonder what he hopes to accomplish by ignoring calls for his resignation. Sure, it’s obvious Blago suffers from a serious lack of common sense and an overabundance of hubris, but does he honestly think this situation is going to turn [...] The Pioneer Press is reporting the FBI has started investigating allegations that a longtime friend and benefactor of U.S. Senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota tried to steer money to Sen. Norm Coleman: Houston is where the first of two lawsuits was filed alleging Nasser Kazeminy, a Bloomington financier, tried to steer $100,000 to Coleman [...] That’s what the Chicago Sun Times is reporting: U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is “Senate Candidate 5,” whom Gov. Blagojevich was considering appointing as Barack Obama’s replacement in the U.S. Senate under the belief the governor would get at least $1 million in campaign contributions, sources tell the Chicago Sun-Times. Granted, the Sun [...] I’d love to know who Senate Candidate 5 is. According to the criminal complaint against Gov. Blagojevich, Gov. Blagojevich thought Senate Candidate 5 could deliver something immediately: “Later on December 4, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke to Fundraiser A. ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated he was “elevating” Senate Candidate 5 on the list of candidates for the [...] Just a few things that caught my eye as I was wandering around the intertubes… Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich and his Chief of Staff were arrested by the FBI today, accused of corruption charges. According to CNN, each man was charged with a count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and a count [...] |
