If This Country Is A Right Leaning Country,

Why do they have to buy their friends? A couple of stories have come to light lately that confirms what many progressives have thought for years. A Grassroots movement does not exist on the right they are just well funded.

The first story, tells us that Clear Channel Communications hires actors to call their shows(Rush/Hannity, etc…).

But according to an online account, Premiere is hiring actors to fake on-air calls to radio shows who do not divulge the scam. Before being abruptly removed, their website read:

“Premiere On Call is our new custom caller service… We supply voice talent to take/make your on-air calls, improvise your scenes or deliver your scripts. Using our simple online booking tool, specify the kind of voice you need, and we’ll get your the right person fast. Unless you request it, you won’t hear that same voice again for at least two months, ensuring the authenticity of your programming for avid listeners”.

As reported, once the actor “passed the audition, he would be invited periodically to call in to various talk shows and recite various scenarios that made for interesting radio.” In addition, the source was specifically told there would be no on-air disclosure of the fabricated nature of the call. He subsequently landed the job, at $40 per hour and a minimum one hour of work per day.

Then not content on just having the Rush/Hannity shows being fake, now they have moved their astroturf sites to Twitter.

Researchers have found evidence that political campaigns and special-interest groups are using scores of fake Twitter accounts to create the impression of broad grass-roots political expression. A team at Indiana University used data-mining and network-analysis techniques to detect the activity.

“We think this technique must be common,” says Filippo Menczer, an associate professor at Indiana University and one of the principal investigators on the project. “Wherever there are lots of eyes looking at screens, spammers will be there; so why not with politics?”

I know that does not say that it is about republican causes only, until we dig in a little more:

Menczer says the research group uncovered a number of accounts sending out duplicate messages and also retweeting messages from the same few accounts in a closely connected network. For instance, two since-closed accounts, called @PeaceKaren_25 and @HopeMarie_25, sent out 20,000 similar tweets, most of them linking to, or promoting, the House minority leader John Boehner’s website, gopleader.gov.

In another case, 10 different accounts were used to send out thousands of posts, many of them duplicates slightly altered to avoid detection as spam. All of the tweets linked back to posts on a conservative website called Freedomist.com.

Just know, the “silent majority” that the righties in Wi like to talk about, are on the payroll!

Kony 2012…and how Rush Limbaugh defended an international war criminal

Back in October 2011, conservative talk radio personality Rush Limbaugh took to the airwaves to attack President Barack Obama for ordering the deployment of 100 U.S. soldiers to Uganda to assist Ugandan military forces in their efforts to combat the Lord’s Resistance Army, a group listed on the United States’ terror watch list and to arrest that group’s leader, Joseph Kony.

While you may not have heard of the Lord’s Resistance Army or Josephy Kony, that group under Kony’s leadership is responsible for murder, mutilations, rape, and the kidnapping of children who are then forced to fight as soldiers, among other crimes against humanity. For his leading role in the Lord’s Resistance Army, Joseph Kony was indicted in 2005 by the International Criminal Court.

So here’s what Rush Limbaugh had to say in defense of the Lord’s Resistance Army and President Obama’s decision to send troops to assist efforts to eradicate that group and bring their leader to justice:

Now, up until today, most Americans have never heard of the combat Lord’s Resistance Army. And here we are at war with them. Have you ever heard of Lord’s Resistance Army, Dawn? How about you, Brian? Snerdley, have you? You never heard of Lord’s Resistance Army? Well, proves my contention, most Americans have never heard of it, and here we are at war with them. Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. It means God. I was only kidding. Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. They are fighting the Muslims in Sudan. And Obama has sent troops, United States troops to remove them from the battlefield, which means kill them. That’s what the lingo means, “to help regional forces remove from the battlefield,” meaning capture or kill.

So that’s a new war, a hundred troops to wipe out Christians in Sudan, Uganda, and — (interruption) no, I’m not kidding.

There you have it folks….Rush Limbaugh rushing (no pun intended) to the defense of a “Christian” group that has engaged in horrific crimes against humanity. I suppose Rush Limbaugh will say just about anything to attack President Obama, but defending war criminals seems beyond the pale for even Limbaugh.

In a somewhat related (and definitely more uplifting story), filmmaker Jason Russell and the group Invisible Children Inc. have released a new documentary shining a bright light on Joseph Kony and the atrocities he has committed as leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army. Here’s the documentary:

Jack and Jill Politics has more on Rush Limbaugh’s defense of crimes against humanity.

Rush’s Comedy Tour

Rush Limbaughs recent remarks just confirmed what a joke he is, so here is the Stewart/Colbert rundown. One quick update though The count of advertisers who have dropped rush is up to 26 now!

Please sign our petition to tell Wisconsin elected officials to boycott the Rush Limbaugh Show.

A list of all the advertisers still sticking behind sexist Rush Limbaugh

In the aftermath of conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh’s description of a woman who testified to Congress in support of birth control funding for women as a “slut” and a “prostitute,” a number of advertisers have pulled their ads from Limbaugh’s show.

However, there are still some advertisers who are standing behind Limbaugh’s comments through their continued advertising on his show, and you can read the full list here.

Yet another advertiser pulls their advertising from Rush Limbaugh’s show

Earlier today ProFlowers announced it is pulling its advertising from conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in reaction to his derogatory comments about a law student who testified about birth control policy. That decision makes ProFlowers the seventh company to pull its advertising from Limbaugh’s radio show.

Limbaugh’s contract with Clear Channel’s Premiere Radio Networks Inc. runs through 2016, and thus far that company has stood firmly behind Limbaugh, who offered a tepid apology to Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke after he called her a “slut” and a “prostitute.”

Rush Limbaugh is an idiot and a pig, and it’s unfortunate that Clear Channel continues to give a sexist drug addict a very powerful outlet for his vile and repulsive vitriol.

Ask Republican Leaders to Boycott the Rush Limbaugh Show

We know the despicable things that Rush Limbaugh said about women. There has been lots of pressure on his advertisers to pull their ads and it is having tremendous success.

However it is time for our republican elected officials to step up and support the women in this state. Wisconsin is one of the epicenters of the political landscape in the United States this year. We need our Wisconsin elected officials to tell Rush no when he asks them to be on his radio show and stand up for the Women in our state. They need to take a leadership role and tell him what he said was unacceptable and they do not want to be associated with such rhetoric.

Please sign our petition and tell the elected republicans of our great state to tell Rush Limbaugh NO. They have no interest in being a guest on his radio show!

Please sign the petition here and let your voice be heard!

Thank you!

Limbaugh advertisers pull commercials in wake of his “slut” comments

Fresh off the heels of his absolutely vile comments referring to a college student as a “slut” and a “prostitute,” conservative radio blowhard Rush Limbaugh has started to lose advertisers.

After being bombarded on Twitter, mattress store Sleep Train said that it would no longer advertise during Limbaugh’s top-rated show following days of outrage over Limbaugh’s statements about Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown student who was denied a chance to speak at a Congressional hearing about birth control.

“We are pulling our ads with Rush Limbaugh and appreciate the community’s feedback,” the company wrote in a tweet.

Later on Friday, another mattress company, Sleep Number, announced through a spokeswoman that it had also pulled its ads from Limbaugh’s show. So did companies Legal Zoom, Citrix and Quicken Loans.

While I’m certainly happy to see Rush Limbaugh losing sponsors over his positively vile comments, I’d rather see him fired.

Paul Ryan’s friend, Rush Limbaugh is in trouble…

“I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it.” –Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limnbaugh is at it again…when he is not being a racist, a bigot, or downright ignorant, he is being a sexist. His latest you can file the latest disgusting remarks under sexism.

Rush Limbaugh’s trembling jowls think Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown grad student who was denied the right to testify at the House Oversight Committee’s hearing on contraceptives, is a big fat slut. A whore. A harlot. A big time prostitute.

Fluke argued that birth control should be covered by religious institutions, and that fellow students are paying far too much out of pocket for a prescription. In response to her suggestion that women are often prescribed birth control for medical reasons, Rush got all red in the face and took to his radio show, sputtering:

What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception.

Mercy me, what can be done about America’s loose ladies and their whorey uteral demands? Rush continued his nonsensical bushwhacking by insulting Fluke’s family and the values she was raised on:

Can you imagine if you’re her parents how proud of Sandra Fluke you would be? Your daughter goes up to a congressional hearing conducted by the Botox-filled Nancy Pelosi and testifies she’s having so much sex she can’t afford her own birth control pills and she agrees that Obama should provide them, or the Pop.

Tonight Ed Schultz allowed Sandra Fluke a forum to defend herself”

“I guess my reaction is the reaction a lot of women have when they’ve been called these names,” Fluke said during an appearance on MSNBC. “Initially you’re stunned but then, very quickly, you’re outraged because this is historically the kind of language that is used to silence women, especially when women who stand up and say that these are their reproductive health care needs and this is what they need.”

“What’s been amazing to me today is the outpouring of support,” she continued. “Everyone from members of Congress to Georgetown faculty to so many women who’ve contacted me, and I think it’s clear from what they’ve said that they’re not going to be silenced by this.”

Rush Limbaugh is the face of the right and he is a vile human being. This sexist disgusting ignorant republican party spokesman is also a huge fan of Paul Ryan (R- Wall St.).

Rush fawns over Pink Slip Paulie Here and here.

Here Paul Ryan returns the favor.

So let’s recap Paul’s week.

First his good friend John Sullivan said the only way to advance Paul Ryan's career was to start shooting democrats. Then his buddy Rush comes out with this and doubles down on blatant ignorant sexism. I wonder if Paul Ryan will denounce either of these acts? (i am still waiting for a comment on the John Sullivan statement).

They say you can tell the character of a man by the company he keeps…..

Halftime in America

I do not watch the Super Bowl for the commercials for a couple reasons, 1. They usually suck and 2. if they are good you will see them about 157,000 times in the next month.

Tonight was the first commercial I was impressed with since Clara Peller Asked "Where's the Beef?" albeit for different reasons. Tonight Chrysler stole the show(at least until Eli Manning engineered the game winning drive) and aired this “Halftime in America” spot narrated by Clint Eastwood.

This was a commercial touting American Made cars and the resurgence of Chrysler. They even used some footage from WI.

The bailout/saving of the American auto industry by President Obama will be a campaign issue. I stand with President Obama on this and will be interested to see who stands against him, especially Paul Ryan’s view!

We will all be awaiting the answer to Clint’s questions. ”

*What’s ahead?
*How do we come together?
*How do we come from behind?
*How do we win?

By the way, what was the hero of the right Rush Limbaugh doing while Chrysler was airing this commercial asking tough questions?
