Despite the shouting and accusations from the Republican legislators about alleged voter fraud in Racine during the June 5th Senatorial recall…where Senator-elect John Lehman defeated Senator Van Wanggaard…there was NO VOTER FRAUD! From the august Racine Journal Times: County investigators have found no evidence of criminal activity after looking into claims of alleged voter fraud [...] If it wasn’t apparent that The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has sold out their editorial and newsroom integrity to the right wing narrative, today’s paper ices the cake. Over the past month or so, MJS gave significant op ed space to RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and State Senator Van Wanggaard to spout off about voter fraud [...] To be honest, I’m surprised Van Wanggaard didn’t try “judge shopping” somewhere like Waukesha County for a friendly court… Republican state Sen. Van Wanggaard said Tuesday he would not sue to try to overturn his loss in the June 5 recall – an announcement that means control of the Senate will be handed over to [...] Because we need less of this guy in Madison… This is absolutely rich… It seems the Racine Police Association has endorsed John Lehman over former police officer, current Police and Fire Commission member and recalled Senator Van Wanggaard in the June 5th election. Rumor is that they not only endorsed Lehman – but did so by a margin of 99% in favor of Lehman. [...] What an absolute moron… Court documents say Demet admitted to an investigator that he circulated the petitions against state Sen. Van Wanggaard, R-Racine, in question and signed the names of other people, one of whom is dead. That was Ralph Petersen whose wife Violet was also fraudulently listed on a petition, according to the criminal [...] Earlier today Republican State Sen. Van Wanggaard, the subject of a recall due to his wholehearted support of Gov. Scott Walker’s assault on public employees, held a $125 minimum contribution luncheon fundraiser in a Racine wine shop.
