Palin daughter breaks up with child’s father

It looks like Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston, the father of her child, are on the outs, despite public statements they planned on marrying:

[I]n a new interview with Star Magazine, Levi’s sister Mercede Johnston says Bristol actually broke up with Levi more than a month ago, is not attending school and rarely lets her baby daddy see their young son. Mercede also says Bristol even told him that she hates him and, when she learned she was pregnant, wished the baby wasn’t his.

Mercede told Star: “Bristol’s just crazy. That’s the nicest way I can put it. She and Levi actually broke up a while ago!”

I’ve got nothing snarky to say here, nor am I going to pass judgment. It’s just a shame things didn’t work out between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston.

  1. Snarky? Hmmm. I think just posting this is snarky. Until we put every politician’s kids under the microscope (including the boys) I think this obsession over Gov. Palin’s kids is sick and down right rotten. It’s none of our business.

  2. Zach…first let me say this girl isn’t any older than a high school senior and anyone who perpetuates gossip/rumor in print or on TV or on the blogs should be ashamed of themselves. You are someone who seems to have a sincere interest in the welfare of children and I don’t get how you can justify participating in this kind of “reporting” on Bristol. Maybe had you just said something like…”Bristol and Levi broke up and I wish them the best”…it would have come across differently, but instead you used a third party quote from Star magazine that made Bristol look bad. I don’t get that. Even the link you provided in your comment was better than the quote you chose to use in your post. There are times in life when being partisan isn’t appropriate…and this was one of those times.

  3. Anon, if the CNN article had been posted when I wrote my entry, I would have used it instead, but it wasn’t, so I used what was available.
