The Party Of NO…..Says Yes?…Get’s Taken?

ZMAN has already Documented Gov. Doyle’s switch on whether or Not The DNR Secretary should be appointed by the Guv or The DNR Board.

Today JSonline is reporting
” Madison – State Rep. Spencer Black (D-Madison) said Monday that majorities of both the Assembly and Senate have agreed to co-sponsor his bill that would restore the authority of the state Natural Resources Board to name the secretary of the Department of Natural Resources.

Black said 51 members of the 99-member Assembly – 38 Democrats and 13 Republicans – have agreed to sponsor his bill that would reverse the 1995 decision by then-Republican Gov. Tommy G. Thompson, and Republicans who then controlled the Legislature, to give appointing power to the governor. That change ended a policy that had existed for 67 years, Black added.

In the Senate, 14 Democrats and three Republicans – a majority of the 33 senators – also are backing the change, led in that house by Sens. Robert Wirch (D-Kenosha) and Rob Cowles (R-Green Bay).”

So i’m thinking to myself……..Hmmmmm

Did the Governor Just Get what he wanted all Along?

See it’s kinda hard for The Party of No To vote against the Governor when they don’t know what he really wants.

Either Way…We get good legislation passed.

That’s what should matter most, The Legislation, Not
whether or not The Guv supports it.
But that would require being more than just
The PARTY OF NO!!

  1. Al, I think the far more intriguing story is whether or not Gov. Doyle will veto the bill if it gets to his desk. He’s said he’s opposed to reversing the current policy, but I’m wondering what he’d do if push comes to shove and a bill to reverse the current policy passes with even a little bipartisan support.
