Conservative Talk Radio Has a Bad Day

Spent some time Traveling our Great State Yesterday. So i Thought I’d do a little opposition research and Listen to The Other Sides Views.

Started With KING CHARLIE He was laying the Groundwork for A Rose Fernandez Victory. Calling it a David VS. Goliath Battle due to the WEAC involvement in the Race. Funny he never says that when WMC spends the Big Bucks?

Then i hit the Fox Valley. Their Wanna Be Talker is Named Jerry Bader

He Took it a Step Further. He not only Predicted The Fernandez Upset Victory, But then he spent a ton of time bragging about how her victory would be directly due to the power of Conservative Talk Radio because they had such an important part in bringing her campaign and ideas to the people.  So as it Turns Out…..Fernandez Got Spanked!!
She really Did no Better Than The Guy With Law Degree From a 3rd Tier Law School That Few Thought Was Qualified to Be a Judge of any kind much less the Supreme Court of Wisconsin.

After years of the Talk Radio Hosts  Telling us that Spring Elections proved that folks want Conservatives, That it must just be the GOP isn’t Conservative enough, That The State GOP needs to go more to the Right…..All these arguments were proven WRONG TONIGHT!

What will be there next Line to sell to their ever shrinking Flock?

  1. “Calling it a David VS. Goliath Battle due to the WEAC involvement in the Race. Funny he never says that when WMC spends the Big Bucks?”

In this perticular case, IMHO it’s not the amount of money that WEAC spent. Instead it was WEAC’s endorsement and the number of teachers and other union brothers and sisters that comes with that endorsement that made it David Vs Goliath.

I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with that (other than a very few may have had blind allegiance and were not thinking for themselves) but I am saying that the WEAC endorsement and the number of teachers/union memebrs that they could get to the polls is what got Tony elected.

40% of voters wanted change. 40%.

If there was an organized machine like WEAC that wanted change, or if WEAC itself actually wanted change, then I bet Rose would have won. But it’s all moot.

Regardless, congrats to Tony. Now lets get some stuff done.

  2. I agree, Rich; it’s time to get some stuff done. Wisconsin should have an education system that’s the envy of the rest of the country, and I think that’s an attainable goal, with the right leadership. While I supported Evers for DPI Superintendent, I expect to see results, because our kids deserve better than a second-rate education.

IMHO you voted for more of the same. Time will tell if that’s what WE all get.

  4. Rich, I’m not convinced that change can’t come from within an organization. While Rose Fernandez did have a few interesting ideas, I had grave concerns about her lack of meaningful managerial experience, as well as her lack of experience with the same system she wanted to oversee.

  5. Of course there will be change. Tony is new to the position, so touche, by definition there will be change. I get it.

But real dramatic sweeping change just wasn’t a priority. I don’t blame you one bit. I voted similarly when I voted for Sen McCain.

    Makes sense to me.
