CRG: Recall an opportunity to buy an election

Chris Kliesmet of the Citizens for Responsible Government has a really, really good reason for wanting to recall Gov. Jim Doyle:

4. Lastly, here is a less savory technical reason for implementing a recall. Recalls are exempt from state campaign finance personal donation limits. Individuals can donate to recall actions above and beyond all state limits.

After all, wanting to be able to “buy” a gubernatorial election screams, “citizens who want responsible government.”

On the other hand, I’d much rather have candidates that aren’t bought and paid for, but I’m kinda weird like that.
