Walker gets endorsement snub

I wrote yesterday that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was scheduled to attend a fundraiser on behalf of gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker last night, and at the time, I wrote Gingrich was expected to endorse Walker’s campaign. However, as the Journal Sentinel is reporting, Gingrich didn’t endorse Walker, and he made it pretty clear he didn’t prefer Walker to Mark Neumann, the other Republican gubernatorial candidate:

In response to a reporter’s question, Gingrich said he wasn’t endorsing Walker, and that his presence did not mean he preferred the county executive over former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann, a Republican who also has said he will likely seek the party endorsement for governor in 2010.

Ouch…that’s gotta hurt.

So much for Newt Gingrich helping Scott Walker lock up the adulterer vote…
