As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, David D. King, a pastor and chief executive officer and founder of the Milwaukee God Squad, plans to run for Secretary of State. Interestingly enough, King also ran for elected office in 2008, when he sought the Democratic nomination for the 16th Assembly District seat held by Rep. Leon Young of Milwaukee. King came in third in the four-way primary, and now that he’s running for office again, it’s good to see he’s running as a Republican, and not as a Democrat in name only.
However, given King’s obvious conservative beliefs, I can’t help but wonder if his only motivation for running for State Assembly in 2008 as a Democrat had to do with the fact that 2008 promised to be a very good year for Democrats, while his decision to run as a Republican in 2010 just happens to be because 2010 is shaping up to be a good year for Republicans. I’ll give David King credit – he’s certainly not afraid to do whatever it takes to win an election, even if it means flip-flopping back and forth between the two parties.
Now if we could only get David Clarke to fess up to his true nature…
That would be monumental.
“Apostle” David King. Sounds like a pro wrestler.
Heh….perhaps he and Doug LaFollette could have a cage match to decide who gets the seat.
