MyDD has some good news from Public Policy Polling on the Russ Feingold election front. In a series of projected match ups with candidates including Tommy Thompson, Terrence Wall and Dave Westlake, Russ leads the way.
45% of all respondents and 25% of Republicans view Thompson negatively.
The full 19 page poll of 767 Wisconsin residents with a series of crosstabs looking at favorability ratings is available as a PDF here.
Update – You can find out more about this race by tracking and commenting at the Open Congress Wiki pages covering the race.
As I’ve written elsewhere, Tommy! won’t jump into a U.S. Senate race against Russ Feingold. Thompson’s ego won’t let him be one of one hundred U.S. Senators, and he’d struggle as a backbench freshman Senator. However, I could see Tommy! running for governor one more time…
A little off topic, but I just saw a “Don’t blame me, I voted for Ed!” bumper sticker the other day.
Heh….that’s a good one.
