  1. Wow. This post is utterly ridiculous. And false. And offensive. Just when I thought you might have a point here and there and live in the realm of rational debate, you post something like this.

    A. “Rabidly anti gay” — you are equating Taliban/Islamic countries who may condone and encourage violence against homosexuals, to the tolerance most Repbulicans have, even if they don’t believe in throwing out standards for marriage? Yeah, that’s a close comparison.

    B. “Implent religious law” — please explain. Is it in the GOP platform to pass the 10 commandments into federal law (wait, some of them already are law)? Allow school prayer? What? But I guess that’s pretty much the same as the Ayatollah in Iran.

    C. “Supports capital punishment” — You are forgetting the first step which is right to a fair trial. And I don’t think the Taliban was big on DNA evidence. But if you think guys like Steven Avery, Tim McVeigh, and other murderers and terrorists have the right to live out their days while their victims lives were cut short, I will gladly have that debate with you.

    D. “Utilizes torture” — again, three or so uses on the captured enemy which may have saved thousands or millions of lives vs. indiscrimiate brutal force on one’s own citizens. Really? A comparable argument?

    E. “Restrict the rights of women” — How extremely offensive of you. You are honestly comparing mandating burkas, acceptance of beatings and rapes, and not allowing education, careers, or life outside the home to the desire of conservatives to restrict and prevent the taking of innocent babies lives? Shame on you.

  2. And if the Taliban/Islamic fundamentalists are as bad as you say, why aren’t Democrats more eager to fight and defeat them and transform their society? Liberals seem to spend more time demonizing Republicans and making cute little charts. Yeah, the party that used to scream about human rights around the world suddenly went mute a few years ago. Interesting isn’t it?

  3. forgotmyscreenname,

I don’t know ’bout you, but in regards to rabidly anti-gay, I have been convulsed with laughter in regards to how bammy has thrown teh gays under the bus after all those campaign promises to do away with DADT, DOMA, etc.

I used to be a believer in one or the other of the parties, too, until I realized that as far as a politician is concerned, their party affiliation is mostly based on the politician’s perception which party compliments the pol’s style to get elected. It is never about what is right or wrong, it is about manipulating the people’s feelings, fears, anger, etc.

The people that support these heinous creatures fall into several catagories: the big outfits that are actually buying some financial or business related benefit, the ideologues that want something banned or legalized. And then there is your average partisan, like ZackW.

I don’t doubt that Zack is sincere in his beliefs. I just know that the criminals he invests his beliefs in don’t give a damn about all that, they care about the increasing cush life, benefits, adulation, and folks dying to suck up to them for favors.

What we should be doing instead of fighting amongst ourselves is fighting the .gov.

What we should be doing is reducing the amount of power these thieves have over our lives.

At some point, even the liberals are going to find the .gov opressive.
