      1. I was listening to the Rachel Maddow show the other night and she was talking about Sen. Feingold and something to do with Uganda. I was only half listening…but apparently he was out in front communicating with the leaders of Uganda about some sort of anti-gay bill they are looking to pass. Of course he was strenuously objecting to it…without any prompting by the media. Go figure…

        1. Well, because even in the games he doesn’t have a decision, if he’s keeping the team close, perhaps then they’ll win a few of those games.

  1. Did anyone see the news coverage on the hearing regarding legalizing medical marijuana? How can anyone think legalizing marijuana for people who need it to control pain due to illness and disease is a “plot” to legalize it for everyone?? Man alive…people’s stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

  2. Sorry for using your Saturday open thread on Thursday…but…

Why are we hearing about shoplifters and not ARMED ROBBERS on the news and in the newspapers?? Which would you all rather know about?? South Milwaukee’s Aldi was robbed on Sunday and not a peep about it in South Milwaukee Now, JSonline, and on the News. WTF?????

    1. No need to apologize; that’s what this thread is for, even if it is Thursday 😛

As for the news, I’m not sure how/why they pick the stories they do, but I think armed robberies aren’t as “newsworthy” as rich doctors who engage in shoplifting for thrills.

      1. It may not be “newsworthy” to the newspapers/stations but it sure is to me. A customer risked her life by following/chasing the robber to his car and she was able to describe the car and give other important information to SMPD.

Call me crazy…but I think anyone who threatens a young woman with a gun and then commits an ARMED ROBBERY needs his picture shown on the news so everyone knows what a low life he is.

        1. I don’t think you’re crazy at all; I’d like to see their photos all over the news and in the paper, so that they have nowhere to hide.
