Health Care Reform – Public Option

Alan Grayson, D-FL does a masterful job of explaining the need for a public option, while he introduces HR4789, that would let consumers buy into Medicare across the country.  The proposal would increase competition in highly concentrated insurance markets and would latch on to the existing provider network developed for Medicare.  One of his great quotes “insurance companies are looking for ways to chintz you, charge you more and give you less.”

  1. I am so glad we have Grayson and Kucinich reminding people why we need a public option if we can’t get single-payer. An individual mandate with no means of controlling cost is worrisome.

It’s an eye opener. Mom takes you inside the crazy system serving autistic children/teen/adults/ and exposes some of the apathetic people we have working in our agencies. Amazing. Shocking. Sad. We need big change with less government right now. Screw finding cures! What’s needed is practical right now helps and supports for families who are trying to protect their autistic children from a very mixed up Godless American system.

    1. Hannahsmom, my wife and I have experienced that system firsthand with our son. In the roughly three years he’s been in the Medicaid waiver program through the county, he’s had more case managers than I can remember, and we’ve had little meaningful support from those managers.
