As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel yesterday, Wisconsin commerce secretary Dick Leinenkugel has announced his resignation, effective Friday. After announcing his resignation, Leinenkugel said he will make an announcement about his future plans in two to three weeks. Leinenkugel declined to say whether he plans to run for public office, but he noted, “There is something that I would like to pursue and it’s an opportunity that I’m going to be able to let everybody know about within two to three weeks time.” Leinenkugel went on to add, “[I]t’s something that can’t wait for the end of the term and I’m really excited about the possibility.”
Clearly Dick Leinenkugel resigned because he’s got his eyes on elected office, but here’s what I’m wondering: just what is Dick Leinenkugel planning on running for?
