North Korea we’re not, and thank heavens for that!

Jim Hayett of Fighting Liberal Lies! (his exclamation point, not mine) thinks that if only the United States were more like Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, or Cuba, we’d be much better off when it comes to illegal immigration:

Dug up this old email about US illegal immigration vs. other countries. Since many of our liberal democrats wish not to understand the difference, or just plain refuse to understand the difference and our laws, I thought this might help before you go and protest AZ law. Which wouldn’t be needed had our government did what they said they would do: Control our borders and enforce our illegal immigration laws already on the books.

IF YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOR.
IF YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY.
IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT.
IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED.
IF YOU CROSS THE CHINESE BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN.
IF YOU CROSS THE VENEZUELAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY AND YOUR FATE WILL BE SEALED.
IF YOU CROSS THE CUBAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO POLITICAL PRISON TO ROT.

The fact that Jim Hayett cited countries such as North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Chine – countries with horrible human rights records – as examples of how he wishes the United States would handle illegal immigration is simply mind-boggling.
