SC “Haley-Gate” Joins “You Lie” & “Hiking the Appalachian Trail” Palmetto Scandals

Last September, I wrote a post titled SC – the laughingstock of the nation”, that detailed some of the political scandals rocking the Palmetto state, including the now infamous “hiking the Appalachian trail” incident with Mark Sanford and the Joe “You Lie” Wilson story.  If you haven’t followed it, the state is at it again – with Tea Party, family values loving, Palin favorite gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley, recently being outed for having had an alleged affair with prominent conservative blogger – Will Folks in what is being called “Haley Gate”.  Will Folks, a Haley supporter,  released the story, claiming that he was simply getting ahead of the news.  Not too surprisingly, Mrs. Haley, the front runner for the upcoming GOP primary has denied the accusations.  Following this denial, Will Folks released several text messages that he had captured with various campaign operatives about the alleged affair.  The denials from the Haley camp continue, resulting in Will Folks, hiring a lawyer and being interviewed about the case.  Here’s the video of that interview:

Website Updates
Here’s one of the quotes from the Haley website that she might want to re-consider if this scandal is proved to be true:

“I believe every life has a value and is blessed by God – my husband was adopted and my pro-life convictions stem from the fact I feel the blessings of that value every day knowing someone chose life for him.”

If the affair is true, she must have been off schedule on the day or day(s) of her affair.

Here’s another quote from her website that might need to be reworked a bit if the affair proves to be true:

“My faith in Christ has a profound impact on my daily life and I look to Him for guidance with every decision I make.  God has blessed my family in so many ways and my faith in the Lord gives me great strength on a daily basis.  Being a Christian is not about words, but about living for Christ every day.”

Subliminal campaigning
Somehow when I look at her campaign logo I see a string bikini.  Maybe I’m the only one who sees this, but it could be that it is really a subtle, subliminal campaign message similar to the alleged Islamic logos the Obama administration is so fond of, to communicate the swinging nature of the Palmetto state.

UPDATE

Here’s an ad for Nikki Haley touting Sarah Palin’s support of this strong “pro-family” candidate:

Meanwhile the reports are in of hours long conversations between Will Folks and Nikki Haley in the middle of the night…

  1. As a general rule, I’m probably tougher on people who cheat on their spouses than most people and that goes double for politicians. I believe it should cost them their jobs because if they can’t be honest with their spouse, what hope is there for the people they represent. And as far as I’m concerned, it shows their job isn’t really that important to them since they know that losing it might be a consequence of an affair and still choose to do it.

That said, apparently, MacCity, you’re way harsher on cheaters than even I am, since you seem to saying that by having an affair, that means she wishes her husband was aborted.

    1. Not my intention at all. I meant her statement to be one of how much she values her husband every day, which if she is playing around doesn’t equate. I certainly didn’t mean to imply that she wishes he were aborted. My apologies for the confusion, I should have been more clear in my intent.
