Last night in the primary, for Joe Biden’s old seat, GOP handpicked candidate and moderate republican Mike Castle, lost to tea party darling Christine O Donnell. O’Donnell is so far to the extreme that even Karl Rove can\'t stand her.
This is not the first time though, Another sane Republican Sen. Bob Bennett(R-Utah) was also beaten in his primary. Then there is Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) who was also ousted by a “tea party” candidate.
The republican party did not know what they were up against when they unleashed the fury of the “tea party” upon our country last summer. I think some of the misrepresentations in my opponent’s race were a part of it as well. How they ever came up with the theory that I voted to impeach George Bush, I’ll never know. That was the news for a couple days right around the election time — by, I think, Mr. Limbaugh. But those are the kinds of things that make politics very difficult.
Now here is my prediction. Its too late this election cycle, but I think next election cycle some Republican will denounce Fox news, Hannity, Limbaugh, etc… BEFORE they lose. I think this will worry who ever does it, but they will soon find out that they have overwhelming support and will become a new leader of the republican party. Thus creating a chasm in the party but one that brings it back to the center(and relevancy), The days of the loons are coming to an
