Tom Michalski, the Democratic candidate for State Assembly in the 21st District announced his endorsement yesterday by Council #10 PAC, which represents teachers in the Oak Creek, South Milwaukee, Cudahy, St. Francis, Greenfield, Greendale, and Franklin school districts. In addition to the endorsement he received from the Council #10 PAC, Michalski has also been endorsed by the SEIU State Council, AFSCME District Council 48, Wisconsin Education Association Council, Wisconsin State AFL-CIO, the League of Conservation Voters and more than a dozen others.:
“I continue to be amazed by the support I am getting from public school teachers,” Michalski said. “I have always been an advocate for public schools and their teachers. This endorsement specifically means a lot to me because Council #10 includes the school district in St. Francis, where I was a member of the school board for 7 years. I am proud of my service in St. Francis and I appreciate their recognition.”
“Every day I hear from people who are concerned about the future of education in Wisconsin and they are glad to see that someone with a strong background in public education wants to represent them. I am one hundred percent committed to making sure our children get a great public education, who then go on and be successful in college and compete in the 21st century workforce.”
I had an opportunity to speak with Tom Michalski yesterday, and in addition to mentioning the endorsement of Council #10 PAC, he noted that to date his campaign has made over 2,000 phone calls and knocked on over 9,000 doors in the 21st Assembly District, and he added that he’s been generally well received by those voters he’s had contact with as he’s been knocking on doors.
