The money train is still ch-ch-chugging along!

I’ve previously noted HERE and HERE how incumbent Democratic State Sen. Jeff Plale has benefited from the money train of generous campaign contributions to his campaign by individuals associated with the cable TV and power & energy industries, but apparently the money train for Sen. Plale has continued to keep chugging along. According to the fall pre-primary campaign finance report filed by the Fund for Parent Choice, a group that supports school choice programs, Sen. Plale has been the recipient of at least$6,000 in campaign contributions from the group, which is headed by Scott Jensen, the former Republican Speaker of the State Assembly who was convicted of misconduct in office (only to have the conviction overturned on appeal).

What’s more, Sen. Plale has continued to rake in cash from individuals outside his district who happen to be associated with the energy industry ($500 from individuals at Alliant Energy, $700 from individuals at Xcel Energy, $300 from individuals at MG&E, $420 in-kind donation from the Wisconsin Utilities Association, and $3,000 from individuals associated with Foresight Energy, located in Florida!). A look through Sen. Plale’s contribution forms shows a lot of contributions from individuals who live outside Sen. Plale’s district, with some as far away as Las Vegas, Nevada, Mill Valley, California, and Beckley West Virginia.

To be sure, “Pay to Plale” is still in full effect in the 7th State Senate District.

xoff has more on this.
