Tom Michalski picks up another endorsement

Yesterday Tom Michalski, the Democratic candidate for State Assembly in the 21st District, announced the endorsement of his campaign by the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, which represents more than 8,000 members in 5 construction Laborer’s locals. Michalski, who’s running against entrenched Republican State Rep. Mark Honadel, issued a statement upon receiving the endorsement:

“I am very pleased to have the backing of yet another great labor organization,” Michalski said. “I understand labor and union issues. I have lived them all my life. I am grateful that the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council recognizes that I am fighting for people just like them and that I will provide the leadership necessary at the state level to get them back to work.”

“I understand the effects of jobs moving out of the area firsthand. The company I worked for, Allen-Bradley, no longer has any production jobs here in Milwaukee. The slump in the economy has hit everyone hard. I know how this affects our community and most importantly the individuals and their families. Many people have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. My top priority has always been to create family sustaining jobs. That has been my commitment in the City of Oak Creek. I am ready to take that commitment, along with my leadership and experience, to Madison and to put people back to work.”
