How much will Ron Johnson’s moneybomb raise?

So Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ron Johnson is having a moneybomb today to raise money (other than his own) for his Senate campaign, and as I write this, Johnson’s moneybomb has raised just a shade over $64,000, which is a far cry from the $435,971 raised during Sen. Russ Feingold’s “Cheddarbomb” in September.

However, even if Ron Johnson’s moneybomb continues to be a miserable failure, there’s always hope for Johnson, as he can always pull out his checkbook and raise money for his campaign the old-fashioned way….by writing himself a check. After all, Johnson’s written himself checks before, to the tune of just over $5 million:

  • 5/1/2010: $200,000
  • 6/9/2010: $1,274,184
  • 7/19/2010: $925,000
  • 8/10/2010: $500,000
  • 8/19/2010: $1,500,000
  • 9/8/2010: $865,000

I’m betting Ron Johnson’s moneybomb will raise less than $75,000 when all is said and done.

  1. The moneybombs are from the regular people who give $25, $50, $100, etc… that really isnt RoJos base.

  2. He doesn’t have any buddies in the Senate to help him out either. How much is Johnson raising out of state comparing to that Cheddarbomb?

Also, you seem to have a lot of criticism for Johnson using his own money. What about Sen. Kohl? At least with Johnson using his own money you know he is seriously committed to his own campaign. It’s a can’t win: he is damned if he uses his own money, and you would damn him if he took money from others by labeling them “special interests.”

Also, Feingold had six+ years to fill his coffers, so Johnson has to use his own money just to be competitive.

    1. I personally am not too much of fan of Senator Kohl myself, I think we are in need of some fresh voice there. I’m not exactly even sure what the guy does, but I heard he does some help for the farmers of Wisconsin so that might actually be a reason why he has a fair amount of popularity.

(Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I seriously am not too sure what he does. I rarely hear about him.)
