Resonating with what people?

On wispolitics, they had a story State Sen. Dan Kapanke .

The story read pretty normal with kapanke defending a decision to pay off a debt with money from his “Foundation”. (of course he did nothing wrong).

Kapanke has also previously acknowledged unintentionally violating state ethics codes by using money from the foundation, funded through organizations that employ lobbyists, to pay off the debt. (Just a simple case of the lawmaker not knowing the laws, but he wants a promotion anyway)

What amazed me by the story was this:

The allegations serve as a distraction as the GOP candidate tries to take advantage of Republican tailwind to unseat Kind.

Although Kind has a 3-to-1 funding advantage, Kapanke said he has better ground game than the Dem incumbent and a strong message that resonates with the people.

Yes being called on, for breaking the law can be kind of distracting. The truly unbelievable thing was that he “has a string message that resonates with people.” what exactly is that message? that laws don’t apply to the lawmakers? that if your rich and white you can get away with almost anything? He wants to “overhaul” our social security, while he cant even keep track of his own finances? I hope my kids dont pick up on a message that he is so strongly sending,,,
