Tuesday morning links

Just a few links to start out your day…

  • Timothy Egan writes about how President Barack Obama saved capitalism, but at a terrible political price.

  • Speaking of the price Democrats paid in the 2010 elections, Luka from Forward Lookout has a great writeup of the blame game with various elements within the Democratic Party pointing fingers at each other for the party’s lackluster electoral results this year. One of the folks pointing fingers regarding the 2010 election results is Ed Garvey, as I’ve previously noted.

  • Over at Playground Politics, the Recess Supervisor is giving folks a history lesson on State Rep. Scott Suder, a “fiscal conservative” who voted in favor of giving lawmakers (and other public employees) a $14 billion pension boost. Funny that more hasn’t been made of that pension scandal, especially in the face of a daunting state budget deficit estimated to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 billion for the next biennium.

  • At least one Republican lawmaker, Rep. Spencer Bacchus of Alabama, went on record as saying half-term former Alaska governor Sarah Palin cost Republicans control of the U.S. Senate.

  • And finally….if you think President Obama hasn’t done much since taking office, you’re not alone.
