Snow Takes its Toll on Metrodome in Minnesota

We just finished shoveling the extensive drifts blocking our driveway and sidewalk. The snow is heavy, icey and cold and the wind is whipping up even more drifts. Not too surprisingly the storm has done some damage, including to the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

Here’s some footage of the roof failure.

Is this yet another symbolic example of the failure of Republican policies given that the Metrodome failed while Republican Governor Pawlenty wraps up his gubernatorial role and swings even further right in his quest for the Republican presidential nomination?

  1. Yeah, you’re right. The metrodome collapsed because their governor is a Republican.

Jesus, try to have some objectivity. Talk about derangement syndrome.

  2. Have you ever heard of tongue in cheek or sarcasm? The right doesn’t seem to understand this concept.

    1. Oh baloney. You didn’t mean it that way and you know it.

If that was sarcasm, you’re not doing it right.

  3. HAHAHAHA the mental disease known as liberalism once again raises his head……collapse = Republican failure …this blog is one of the best comedy sites on the net.

  4. Liberalism, upon which western civilization was founded, is a “mental disease,” eh? Who’s side are you on?

No, seriously. While we live(d) in a liberal, democratic society, that mat be fading just as fast as your ability to take a joke. At least I think that was supposed to be a joke. It’s so contrived, what else could it be?

(first person to say “/THE TRUTH/” gets smacked.)

    1. If you smack them though you’re going to be on Fox News which clearly an unbiased source and they’re going to prove how violent liberals really are.

I knew you liberals were going to overthrow us.

    2. Classic liberalism, upon which western civilization was founded, is not even remotely close to what liberalism is today. Our forefathers founded America based on individual rights and responsibilty as well as limited government. John Maynard Keynes and FDR ushered in the new era of liberalism based upon the idea that government knows best. So nice try, you ain’t fooling me.

      1. Squid, someone already fooled you. Our forefathers did found this country on individual rights and responsibility, but also as doing what was the greater good for all and the commons being an important part of our country. Many(Jefferson, Madison, Paine) were radical progressives. Keynes did not say government knows best, he said when we were in a massive recession we need government to spend to kickstart the economy to lift us out of it(and he was right).

        1. Before anyone says “Keynesian theory doesn’t work!” I’ll have to bring this up? Why does it work for other countries?

Because it’s the simple fact that we as Americans, regardless of political alignment for years? Never get to the last part of the theory. The part after government stimulation of the economy through borrowing: the part where we pay back that borrowing during the boom times. You see, the Bush administration tried run on the Keynesian theory except for the – hello paying back portion of it. Therefore once you pay it back, you’ll have fresh ammunition for the next economic downturn so you can borrow again to stimulate the economy.

  5. I’m getting a kick how butthurt conservatives tend to get when outlandish claims are tossed right back at them. 🙂
